Trust in the Lord

Yesterday we made an impromptu run to Kirkland's and I found this beautiful piece to hand in our bedroom, it matched out brown and blue perfectly!  In the last few months (and years!) I have been constantly posting this verse as a reminder to myself on facebook.  I seriously can't get enough of this verse!

Proverbs 3:5-6
It has been a whirlwind of emotions moving out of our first home and taking a step of faith trusting God to move forward in the process of relocating.  Some days it feels so great to being moving forward, but other days it feels like a black hole.

Today seems like things are coming together, slowly but surely.  Last week it felt like there was a halt to the process because it wasn't the ride place for us.

I'm always caught between getting excited for new job opportunities and not wanting to get my hopes up or feeling like there is a possibilities right around the corner or feeling like we'll be living with my in law's for a year, which isn't our plan.  Not because we don't love them or like living here, but because we feel like God is moving our family and it's just a matter of time.

This week is the week or opportunity.  I will find out next Monday if I have a job opportunity nannying for a family friend whose little girl is just a week older then Addileigh, then only a few days to decide.  Evan has been applying for a new job nightly and one of the horizon seems promising because it's a new company opening up so there are a lot of positions.  There are so many details that everyone wants answers to, but we just don't have them.  We don't know where we are going to work yet, therefore we don't know where we are going to live, go to church, or the timing of our full move.

It's so much that needs to be worked out and I'm feeling rather peaceful knowing that God is in control and truly trying to live, "Trust in the Lord with all your Heart!"  It's so hard, especially when others are expecting answers, but I have faith and am taking steps to where God is leading us.  It's the old saying, " Two steps forward.  One step back."

Right now I'm not sure where we will land, but I thank God for his provision and hope.  He has a great plan that is slowly being revealed to us and we aren't going to rush forward and bypass His plan.

Getting Comfy...oh and I got a BOB!!!

The last week has been a whirlwind of packing, moving, unpacking, packing to travel, traveling, interviews, spending time with family, and just trying to get settled in.  So sorry for the lack of blog posts.  Here are a few highlights of the week:

* Moving went amazingly well!  We're loving being in a house with a yard and pool to play in and are eternally grateful to my in laws for letting us stay here for a little while.

* Addi came down with a rash from head-to-toe when we were getting ready to go to my sister in laws, but we have to rearrange the plan since we didn't want to possibly share!!

* My interview for a nanny position went awesome! They are a great couple planting a church in the great city area.  It's all in God's hands to see what comes of that.

* I GOT A BOB JOGGING STROLLER!!! It was a huge blessing.

I did a last minute craigslist check before my trip and there it was posted back in June, so I emailed the guy with little expectations.  To my surprise he still had it.  Long story short I got the stroller and the weather cover for $125 which retails for  around $450.  What a  blessing!! I had almost given up on getting a great jogger used, but I just thought  I would try one more.
Mine & Addi's new BFF
My mom and I went for a "quick" two mile run at 2:30 PM in the 90 degree weather because I couldn't contain my running excitement!  I was aiming for three, but decided turning around early would be best.  On our way back my mom noticed a clothes pin on the underside of the stroller, when I pulled it off it said, "Jesus Loves You. Pass it on."  So when I got home I emailed the guy telling him how I found the clothes pin and that I was so blessed by the stroller.  It made me smile that God watches over the the little things and gives special gifts to His children.  When he emailed me back he told me he wasn't really a religious person and I honestly think he had NO clue what clothes pin I was talking about.  So crazy!  He was the only owner and divorced, so there wasn't really a explanation for how it got there other then to remind me to thank God for such a wonderful gift!

Now I have absolutely no reason to not do a half marathon in October!  I have been so giddy about my stroller I actually got up at 7:30 this morning and got in almost three miles before Addi's morning nap!

Enjoying a stroll in 95 degree weather!

Home Sweet Home

Although I mentioned being excited to be moving out of this apartment and enjoying some summer time living at my in laws house, obviously there are a lot of emotions that come with it.  Not only is it very humbling to move in with another family when you're an adult with your own family, but it teachers you a lot of gratitude to have a family open their home to you.

It's also emotional knowing we are a leaving the only "home" that my kids have know.  Not that we expected or even wanted to live here any long.  (Or even as long as we have lived here.)  We're so happy to be stepping forward in faith that God will provide a job for us to move closer to Morgan.  Paving ground and creating a home for our family.  It's so exciting for us, but there are still moments that I get choked up.

* When I took all of the pictures and decoration off Addileigh's nursery, a tear slipped down my face.  It's her first room.  Her only home so far.   Kind of sad, but excited for the next phase of life.

* Next weekend when Morgan comes he won't be coming to the only home that was once ours, not that he will care.  He loves Gram & Grandpa, but there are so many memories in our little two bedroom apartment.  Like the first night we had our family together or the nightmare I held him through or our family movie nights where we all cram in our bed.

* Addi is going to have a complex about boxes and packaging tape.  She has started to try and rip the tape off the box I'm putting together, a kind of normal thing, but then she started freaking out when I picked up her toys to put them in a box.  Now that she can walk she practically runs up, snatches the toys, then lays on it.  Poor baby!  So we would take packing breaks and go play in the pool at Gram & Grandpa's house.

Even though there are all those emotions I am reminded of a few things: my family is healthy, happy, and safe.  Thank you Lord! No matter what physical structure we call home at the time, my favorite part of my home will be the loved ones I share it with.  I know it sounds cheesy, but it's so true.  Packing everything into boxes and putting stuff in a garage sale reminds me that none of it matters.  My home is not here on earth.  Everything could disappear one day and I would be ok because I have the love of my family and an eternal home far better then I can imagine awaiting me some day.

Tomorrow is the big move.

Most our possessions are in boxes and ready to into storage.

Wish us luck!
